If crushed, these aromatic leaves are extremely spicy and taste strongly of pepper. Clusters of tiny, fragrant, star shaped, creamy flowers bloom in spring and are followed by edible black berries in autumn. Drimys aromatica prefers fertile, acidic, lime free, moist but
