Leaf cutter ants can deftly use their mandibles like a tiny pair of scissors, cutting manageable slices out of leaves & grasses & flowers. They parade back home in a magnificent procession with their cuttings held high, creating dancing lines of color along the forest floor. After preparing the art for this design, I use an acid bath to etch the artwork deep into the copper
